Workshop IGES ICS-CDM Seminar for Provice in Makasar : Regional Capacity Building for CDM Implementation in Indonesia
IGES ICS-CDM Seminar for Province : Regional Capacity Building for CDM Implementation in Indonesia is aimed to (i) discuss barriers and policy solution for developing CDM in Indonesia, (ii) understand sector policies in supporting energy and forestry CDM implementation in Indonesia, (iii) understand provincial policies and program that may relevant for CDM projects, (iv) identify potential CDM projects and local proponents.
This seminar and workshop is also an opportunity to gather the government officials (Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Forestry, CDM National Commission, Regional and Local Government), private sectors (oil and gas companies, forestry companies, plantation companies, etc.), academicians, consultants, and NGOs to discuss the way forward in the development of CDM project in South Sulawesi province.
The seminar was started by opening remark from Mr. Agus Sadelie as director of CER Indonesia and Mr. Jun Ichihara as IGES Country Officer. On their remark, Mr. Agus Sadelie and Mr. Jun Ichihara both informed the participants about IGES ICS-CDM program and cooperation between IGES and CER Indonesia in developing CDM Country Book for Indonesia, including the organization of seminar in Makassar as part of the book’s dissemination.
Another remark came from Mr. Ilyas Asaad as head of Ministry of Environment Regional Office for Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua which was also officially opened the seminar. This seminar was attended by around 50 participants from local Government, academicians (Hasanuddin University), industry sector, and NGOs.
