Climate Festival 2016

Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) in cooperation with the Norwegian government and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Indonesia held a Climate Festival. The festival was held on 1 to 4 February 2016 at Jakarta Convention Center.
The event takes the theme "Under 2 Degrees Celsius for People's Welfare and the Next Generation". The festival is filled with various activities, such as seminars, interactive discussions, exhibitions, as well as various other activities involving 75 institutions.
The festival is intended government (MoEF) as an effort to convey the results of the Paris Consensus Outcome to all stakeholders of the climate change and the Indonesian public. This was done to facilitate the understanding that accelerates the implementation of a common agenda in mitigation and adaptation of climate change in Indonesia.
As quoted from antaranews.com (28/01/2016), the Director General of Climate Change MoEF, Nur Masripatin, said that "climate festival that was held for four days at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) intended as a forum to convey points of Paris Agreement to stakeholders related to climate change in Indonesia and the public. In addition, climate festival is also intended to provide information and communicate results of the best experiences happen at the national and sub-national to the entire community in line with the Paris Agreement includes mitigation, adaptation, finance, transparency, capacity building, and technology transfer".
"Various seminars and interactive discussions aimed at collecting ideas or ideas and steps stakeholders as the basis for the implementation of global and national climate control," Nur added.
By following the festival is expected to facilitate the understanding that accelerates the implementation of a common agenda in mitigation and adaptation of climate change in Indonesia.
